Nurturing Children’s Growth in Grace
Martin Methodist’s Children’s Department is honored to have the opportunity to minister to you and your family. It is our goal to provide a variety of opportunities for Christian growth and nurture to take place, all supported by a committed and involved faith community. We strive to do this by supporting all aspects of spiritual development, family life, and Christian Education.
In order to promote the faith development of all children, we provide dynamic programs for children of all ages and surround them with loving support in a safe environment. Furthermore, we believe your child is a special gift from God, and we want all children to feel at home and a part of our programs through the people and activities that God has placed in this ministry.

The Bible is God’s story written to His people through the lives of His people. In Elementary Ministry, we dig into the bible every Sunday as we learn more about the story He has written and continues to write in our lives today. We use the rotation model which is designed to incorporate the different learning styles. The students will experience the lesson through storytelling, games, cooking, art, science, computer and movies.

Confirmation is offered each year at Martin UMC.
At Martin, our 6th grade students take part in Confirmation. Confirmation is an ancient rite of the church which has been practiced since the early centuries of the Church’s existence. The word “confirmation” literally means “to make firm.” As a rite in the Christian faith, confirmation is the time and place where we acknowledge that a child has reached the age when he or she can begin to assume responsibility for his or her own faith. Here at Martin, our 6th graders are provided with the setting and opportunity to acknowledge this change and to make a commitment to Jesus Christ and the Church. This Confirmation experience will be a special time of spiritual development in your child’s life. You do not have to be a member of Martin UMC to attend Confirmation.
